AlanB Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Hi, I'd be really grateful for information on how you can distinguish between an original pressing and the counterfeit/reissue. Thanks in advance. Alan
Dave Rimmer Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Hi, I'd be really grateful for information on how you can distinguish between an original pressing and the counterfeit/reissue. Thanks in advance. Alan Didn't know it had been booted
Cheapsiderecords Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Definately booted, a couple of guys in Toronto have been selling them on ebay for a while, along with the Dean Barlow. I asked one of them where he got them from at a Record Show but surprisingly he wouldnt tell me!!
boba Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Definately booted, a couple of guys in Toronto have been selling them on ebay for a while, along with the Dean Barlow. I asked one of them where he got them from at a Record Show but surprisingly he wouldnt tell me!! it's actually a boot for the jamaican scene (at least the one I know), the label is slightly whiter and the font crisper than the regular press
Val (Chunky) Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 (edited) The number 1's are slightly different on the label number and the time is different. Edited January 10, 2008 by Val
AlanB Posted January 10, 2008 Author Posted January 10, 2008 Thanks for the info, very helpful. If I'd had to guess, I would have got it wrong way round and thought the sharper/cleaner label was the original rather than the boot. An updated Manship bootleg guide, including those done in recent years and for non-Northern markets, would surely sell well. Alan
John A Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 wasn't this discussed recently? time's are different too..2.20 REAL--2.30 BOOT.
