Heard him live last Saturday at about 3.30 am "live" from Statten Island New York previewing the show. Mentioned that he was looking at doing Minehead and Bognor (BUTLIZ s /) also mentioned N.Wales.

They played "I'm on my way" as well.

Great artist-- but maybe a little overdone-which is sad.

Unmissable radio.

It was emotional at times.

Glad to hear he's getting some money from the recordings.

no it wont play i get a real player message ive tried with windows no joy there

Agree with Brian J this really was a great interview from a truly passinate guy. I've got it recorded on Sky+ so if anyone wants a copy on DVD just drop me a PM. The bit when Dean and Pete Mitchell are trying to find the site of the Peppermint Lounge in New York and find that it's now a car park and Dean says just like Wigan Casino I thought was priceless. Also his quote after the Cleethorpes show "they took it away (in the sixties) and now it's been given back" Fantastic!!

I was one of those people who didn't really bother about watching live acts, preferring to dance to records...... that was until I saw Dean Parrish in Kettering a couple of years back. What a brilliant performer and he had the whole place dancing! Great to see a performer really enjoy himself too! I believe he's on at Butlitz in Skeggy next month too. Since the Kettering gig, I've watched the live acts with a much more open mind. Cheers Dean! :(

Why is he a little overdone? Is he now not receiving his dues.

A typical Soul Source response. Would you say that to his face?

Great show, a nice upbeat story and I'm pleased that Dean is enjoying the belated attention. I'm very happy for him.

I've only listened to bits of it, but I've just mp3'd it off the listen again facility so I can play it back at my leasure, later on. Of course, once I have listened to this bootleg version I will of course top myself before I get the knock on the door  .

from what I have heard, it was a great interview and respect to the man.

Me and our youth took his lad to see him at the Cleethorpes doo - his quote of 'he looks Uncle Graham' - grey hair and old raised a chuckle. But f*** didn't he change his tune when old Dean belted a range of tunes out.

Fit and fine as a butchers dog - I just hope I can rattle it out when I'm his age

Great show about a top geezer and one of the few acts to properly get what Northern is about.

I think the the "Dean Parrish" (insert other soul act) story would make a great film! I enjoyed the Ray Charles film which showed how a black blind boy from the poor south could make it to the top, but I think a story about someone who thought his musical career came to nought only to find out years later that his (and other silmilar supposedly no hopers) music has been cherished in a different country would make a good, uplifting screen play?
