NEV
HI ALL Came across a bit of info regarding this mighty fine choon. Can anyone confirm if this info is anywhere near correct please:- " Only 1,000 copies were pressed. Additionally, because most of them were printed with the labels reversed, over 700 copies were simply thrown away! The pressing plant never redid the run, so there are now less than 300 copies available in the world today" Also if this is anwhere near true ,how valuable is this record now ??? info was supplied by someone who owns a copy appreciated &thanx to anyone who can help Nev Link to comment Social source share
Gasher
Info is aboot right BUT BEWARE IT HAS BEEN BOOTED LATELY I THINK Chris Anderton can confirm seeing a box of boots in the USA last year but kept away. I heard from another source the seller wanted $200 a piece as they looked almost identical to the real ones and would be/could sold as such to the unsuspecting punter. I know Mannie also is aware of the bootleg copies. Price for Originals?? Id say £600+ paid this for mine 5 years ago One of my faves play it out when ever I can. Just dont see it that often hope this helps gasher Edited January 6, 2008 by the gasher Link to comment Social source share

Can you confirm that your label is moulded into the vinyl at the run out? Brian Link to comment Social source share

Anoraks Corner
There are originals of this with labels reversed cos I have one! My one was also label-reversed. It came directly from their manager on release in search of a UK release via a record label I used to work for many moons ago. Still have the business card that was stapled to the sleeve somewhere...had a picture of an alsatian dog on it as I recall. Link to comment Social source share
Chris Anderton
Just to clarify my position on this.... I never said i saw a box of boots in the US. What i said was that i heard some copies of the record had turned up in the US. As it is, since i posted that message i have never actually seen a massive influx of copies coming onto the market. I didn`t say anything about bootleg copies. Cheers, Chris. Link to comment Social source share

Who in the US would bootleg it and if they did, wouldn't they have started appearing? who presses a run of records just to sit in them and try to pawn them off onto british people when they come into town? Doesn't seem very profitable. Also, it would be a strange choice of a record to bootleg Edited January 10, 2008 by boba Link to comment Social source share

The copy i got from the source causing concern, was made from exactly the same masterplate as the reversed label copies also the labels are from the same printing plate, also. BUT the blue label is a slightly diff. shade, that could be due to light exposure or possibly and i do say possibly they re-pressed them. If they did or have they used all the original plates, and printing block for the labels, in other words you can't tell the difference and the guy insists it is/they are originals. Only the label colour and maybe texture of the label could be questioned... that may be down to the ageing process, i know i look a little different than i did in 1981. rest assured they are not bootlegs or counterfeits.
