Bit of an unfortunate label name

My copy came from a good friend who once told me it had been 'booted"

Think he got his info from Ian Clark no less

So ....................how do you spot an original ? Any help really appreciated

I've checked Mr Manships 1st price guide but didn't see it listed (I don't have the later guides cos I don't like these books, they give me nightmares ) and I've yet to buy the 'Bootleg Guide" (shame on me)

To my knowledge it has not been booted

It was just misuse of the label name

Yellow label black text....someone will tell me IM wrong

why would anyone boot that ?

saw one last year on ebay went quite high if I remember

Yep mines yellow label black print. Don´t remember there being an address on the label at work right now I´ll check when I get home. Anyone know what it went for on the bay out of interest, not gonna sell mine

Ian Clark spotted it and sent me an email which I'm sure he won't mind me quoting:

"hi thanks for the mention on this on soul source..it is rareand was booted by soussan..where is he nowi still have my orig copybest wishes ian clark"

Hi Paul, long time no 'see' ....I,m not up on this record at all , it's just that in your post you mention the initials P.B....according to Manship's bootleg guide several good looking bootlegs (Salvadors, International GTO's, etc) where produced by a guy who according to John 'was so proud of his work he always 'signed' them with his initials PB in the dead wax'....hope this isn't the case with yours, just thought I'd let you know, Eddie Daniels not mentioned in the guide by the way......Derek

Just had a look at the link you kindly provided. The copy I have is Steves old one which you say came from Soul Bowl, so I would think its a real one. Don't suppose Ian Clark told you how to spot a boot in his E mail ?

Eddie D not mentioned in the price guide I have (an old one) nor the guide as you say either. Having read the link soulechoes provided Ian Clark no less seems to think it was booted, so I'm still wondering what the deal is with Mr Clark saying it was booted and Mr Manship apparantly not ?

Still no more on 'our man' Bert I'm afraid, still at least we got a photo (thanks to Chris) and some anecdotes. Going Stateside with Kipper soon and hopefully gonna be talking to some music biz people so I"ll make sure to drop his name into conversation............you never know !!

I"ll keep you posted of course and who knows may be able to ressurect that thread

Just emailed Mr Clark so hopefully have a definitive answer soon! Have given him the link to this post so he'll either post here or let me know in email and I'll post his findings.
