This is from the Warner Brothers website "Urban awareness anthem originally intended as a cut on a Lou Rawls album, but eventually conceived as an individual release featuring stars of the Philadelphia International label including Teddy Pendergrass, Archie Bell, The O'Jays, Dee Dee Sharp & Billy Paul. The original record opened with Lou Rawls explaining the effect of the 1977 New York garbage strike, summarizing that "You can no longer depend on the man downtown to take care of business...We have to do it for ourselves." "
