I HAVE A TAPE OF RARE MOTOWN TRACKS,& BELIEVE SOME ARE UNRELEASED, BUT AS USUAL OVER THE YEARS THE TRACK LISTINGS GONE WALKABOUT, THERE ARE TWO TRACKS THAT I LOVE BUT DON`T KNOW WHO DID THEM CAN YOU HELP? 1-FOR THE LOVE OF MIKE, 2- SWEET THING- INSTRUMENTAL [ AS SPINNERS] MANY THANKS

Harry, have ya got an old Pete Lowrie tape there? "Love Of Mike" I think Brenda's sister Patrice Holloway, "Sweet Thing" the backing track guess ya better just put it down to The Funk Brothers. thumbsup.gif

Hi Harry, Like Steve correctly says "For the love of Mike" is by Patrice Holloway and "Sweet thing" The Funk Brothers. Nice tape that one if I remember correctly, I purchased quite alot of these acetates off Pete Lowrie, quite a nice pick up as they are steeped in history and every time I look at them and play them it transports me to the Hitsvillle Studios.

Thanks lads, could be asyou say one of pete`s tapes, people used to do me tapes all the time years ago, this could be a copy of one his tapes, love these two tracks so there acetate only then are they? there`s some fantastic stuff on the tape, sadly the quality`s begining to go now, don`t suppose you know if i could get either another copy or have any of these tracks been put onto cd format? many thanks HARRY biggrin.gif
