Biggordy Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 What's the other tune that uses the same backing track as the Cavaliers' cut of Larry Banks' "Ooh It Hurts Me"? Cheers Gordy
Dolly13 Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Hello Gordy Ooh it hurts me borrows the backing track from Al Gardner - Sweet Baby on Sepia. It was also released in France on Googa Mooga. Hope this helps Tune by the way
Biggordy Posted December 28, 2007 Author Posted December 28, 2007 Cheers Dolly, much appreciated! Gordy
Guest James Trouble Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Hello Gordy Ooh it hurts me borrows the backing track from Al Gardner - Sweet Baby on Sepia. Wilxy Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 I'm sure Ady Croasdell can confirm, but I believe The Cavaliers was recorded before Al Gardner... Great tunes, both of them......
Ady Croasdell Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Yeah Cavaliers before Al Gardner but before that at least three different Larry Banks versions.
Wilxy Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Talking about Al Gardner, how much is the Sepia release going for, and similarly how much for the French Googa-Mooga issue.....and are there any about for sale???
Garethx Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 The Sepia release of Al Gardner is probably touching four figures now: it's always been a tough record, although a few have been on ebay in the last eighteen months. The Googa Mooga 45 is far more plentiful and it should be possible to get one for around a hundred quid.
pikeys dog Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Saw a U.S. issue in Pittsburgh for approx £500 last year. French copies with/without sleeve £50/£30
Pete S Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Saw a U.S. issue in Pittsburgh for approx £500 last year. French copies with/without sleeve £50/£30 Was going to say the same until gareth said £100 so I thought I'd not say anything
Garethx Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 I should have said you'll definitely get one for a hundred quid if it's a fifty quid record! Sincere apologies.
Biggordy Posted December 29, 2007 Author Posted December 29, 2007 I think I'll look out for a French issue.. Not right now though, just made a major dent in my card for Christmas! Cheers Gordy
