Guest Gavin Page Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Tis a great little record, as the man above says around £600 +. Don't see it to offten as once it finds a home it tends to stay there. Good luck if you are looking

Helena Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Don't see it to often as once it finds a home it tends to stay there. I've seen at least ten on ebay and forums in the last year. All (except a rough copy) have been around £600-800. Here's three of them: https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php...rld&thumbs= Nice enough tune, but I wouldn't pay that price.

Pete S Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 I must be feeling ill or something - I quite like that! Definitely sounds like solo Curtis Mayfield from one of his blaxploitation movie scores though. But yeah, not bad at all

It's funny when I first heard this a number of years ago, I thought New World was a CU so went home and went through all my Mayfield Albums. I think it's a nice record, but not sure that I would pay what it now would cost me ?

Guest James Trouble Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Something you will almost certainly hear at Soul Revolution tonight, if you like this sort of thing. A bit of an anthem for us, being spun in both funk and northern rooms, only 13 tickets left though if you want to make it...
Guest Gavin Page Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 You got that Melody of life 12 yet Nope mate, happy with me old 45. Just didn't know it got a 12 release.
Sebastian Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 (edited) The tune is written by Curtis Mayfield and produced by Rich Tufo. Would be nice to have the full story behind this record, i.e. which members the New World actually consisted of etc. There are both styrene and vinyl copies out there. "We're Gonna Make It" is only included on the issue copies. The demo copies have got mono & stereo versions of the "wrong" side. Here is the information for all copies of this 45 which sold on eBay during 2007: Jan-20-07: $1591.66 (EX) Jan-26-07: $1576.22 (EX-) Jan-26-07: $1420.61 (EX) Feb-06-07: $1600.00 (VG++) Mar-11-07: $621.00 (VG-) Jul-06-07: $568.89 (VG) Nov-17-07: $1134.98 (M-) Dec-09-07: $1055.00 (M-) Edited January 2, 2008 by Sebastian
