Guest Juddy Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 If someone, theoretically, had one to part with ... What could someone realistically expect to get for a stone-cold mint copy of that oh-so-talked about Parliaments "Rainy Day"? Not some pie-in-the-sky number, but what people would actually take outta their wallet and hand you. juddy

Guest Juddy Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 so juddy what you tring to tell us all ?maybe you have a copy for sale ? I most certainly do not! However, I live in a town where the depth of a man's record collection seems to be inversely proportionate to his ability to use the world wide web... and there might be one available if the curmudgeonly ol' fella who owns it feels it were well worth his while to move it. (Damn - that's a hell of a sentence... too bad I'll only ever get to use it that once...) j.
Quinvy Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 I've heard there's a couple of copies under offer at the moment. Have heard the figure of £2500 mentioned. I have been offered 2 in the past week, but I'm not interested. Not a proven rarity yet as it's only just been uncovered. Phil.

Well, lets say it has been uncovered at least since start of this very year. For those in the know maybe even longer. I am pretty sure it is due to JM latest auction (result) that copies are coming to light lately, if they do at all that is. Not doubting your statement Phil, but maybe one or even both copies that have been offered to you are from the same source = same copy ? Whatever is teh case , if you could guide me to one I would more than just appreciate it.. Edited December 27, 2007 by Marc Forrest

I've known for getting on two years what it is as have others and I know a fair few dealers and collectors who have been looking high and low for saome time for copies and yet its still a rarity. The test of time will prove whether it stays rare or not, you either take a chance on one now or wait and hope they turn up in quantity but there's always the chance they won't. If that proves to be the case the price can only go up.

But most of the big name DJ's have a copy now , and I'm already sick of hearing it [and I was never really that keen anyway] will it stand the test of time? Who knows?
