Got back in touch with dad last year and we talked music..He was in a band called the Hot Lids in late/60s early 70s and they produced one record called Ruby in 71/72..I have asked him for a copy but no luck yet,he is gonna see if he's got a copy in the loft someplace or on a tape at least...Don't know the lable yet but the lead singer/writer was A T Bones we think..It would mean so much to me to hear this tunes again, aint heard it since early 70s..Can any of you lot give us a place to search or any other info on this..

My dad also told me that he once supported Junior Walker  that blew me away and i am gonna talk to him some more and catch up after all these years,we lived apart from an early age..

Thanks

Steve

ps..Pete Smith was unclear but its a reggae and not soul...

Hi Raph..

My Dad called last Sunday to say that they found a copy.... Picked it up the same day....

The lable is Hot Lead... Track is Ruby by Mr T bONES AND THE MAZE... 1972...

Really special moment to get it home and play it for the 1st time in 35 years.. Lable and vinyl in very good condition too :lol:

Thanks to everyone for all the help in my search... If any more copies turn up then i will let you know and please let me know if you find anymore.. A rare track indeed it seems with no official release, just the 500 to band members to sell local in the West Yorkshire area...

All fairly common mate, could probably use the Pressure Beat one, they reckon Keith & Enid sold something like 50,000 copies without charting! If your Dad can round up any more - great!
