Every now and then I hear some really great tunes played by inspirational DJs who don't play it safe, record after record , with the obvious tracks everybody knows . Recently these have included -

Little Reuben 'In the name of loneliness'

Joe Hinton 'Got you on my mind '

Annette Poindexter 'Wayward dream '

Joe Walker 'This is my last goodbye '

Dynamite Singletary 'I really love you'

Richard Caiton 'I'd like to get near you'

Soul Steppers 'Soulstep'

off to 'Taste of Honey' tonite for a 'top up' ...in the meantime other great tunes from Inspirational DJs ?

Richard Caiton 'I'd like to get near you'

First played out by my my good friend Andy Whitmore... more years ago than I care to remember... has to be coming up to 20 years or so I would say.

I agree though... awesome tune... thumbup.gif

Is there room for 'playing it safe' these days?

The statement comes up frequently - and if people do, how, that is if they aren't keeping feet on floors, do 'these people' get bookings.

Is it not just again, opinion?

I thought "playing it safe" was keeping feet on floors.

There's better and more imaginative ways of keeping the floor going, but how many times have you heard a DJ revert to the same old same old, when he hasn't got a feel for the floor?

Sticking Nolan Porter on halfway through an R'n'B set, in order to get some on the floor, is a distinct sign of failure IMO.

massive inspirastion to me these shows.

George Campbell "get it on" one of my best buys of 2007.

And from such a young guy it shows there is some hope afterall.
