In late 1967 / early 1968, the soulful sound of rocksteady gave way to the next phase in Jamaican music - the new uptempo sound which was to become known internationally as REGGAE. Here are some classic sounds from that early period, along with rarities which appeared during the following 12 months in early 1969.
