Hi there, found this for 50p today in a charity shop. 'The Spellbinders - Help me (get myself back together again)' b/w 'Danny Boy' UK CBS 202453 1966. Top drawer classic Northern. Plays perfect too. Anyone any idea of it's worth please.

Thank you

CBS first press, a real nice copy is £50, we've sold it for that on several occasions.

It ain't an easy 45 on CBS.. the Direction reissue release turns up regular.

That's a great little find for 50p..well done.

Not a Charity Shop but best find since being in Canada was 45's at 3 for a $1 from the back of a Ryder Rental truck at a dealers sale as we was getting evicted from his unit:

Mighty Pope - If You Want A Love Affair - RCA

James Walsh - Cuz Its You Girl - RCA

Allen Sisters - In With The Downtown Crowd - Quality Test Pressing - this was well battered but played OK'ish

Came away with a couple of 100 Motown, Soul, Reggae, R&B.

in the Went back to visit this guy at home a couple of weeks ago in London, ON and came away with the Alexander Patten and Helen Troy I posted in another thread - $1 each!!

I also got Choker Campbell - Camel The Hump - Campbell Records - anybody know it? Canadian only?

I have also got quite a few other nice things from him in the last few years.

Not Northern, but it just goes to show. I was looking through record bins in a local charity shop when I came across a bunch of obscure 60`s records. I pcked out around 10. One that caught my eye because of the label was 1965 - Moondreams (Petty) / Wait For Me (Page) - (Immediate IM 20). I asked Pete Smith about it and he gave me a 60`s record dealers name. I got £120.00. The 10 singles cost £2.00. As said in earlier blog They are still out there.

In Dublin a few years ago picked up Margie Joseph- I cant move no mountain (US Atlantic) for 1 euro about 65p at the time and also Odds and Ends- Let me Try (Today) for 5 euro about £3. Not that rare but much cheaper than what they normally go for and 2 classic sides all the same.

went into a record junk shop in oldham on way home from work just lookin around then noticed on the wall back of the counter

timi yuro never be over for me issue nr mint

ester phillips never say good bye demo british vg++

ben e king cry no more demo british vg++

asked him how much for the three he said 50 quid i said will you take 40 he replied ok then so i said can i leave deposit till tomorrow of

£10 ok then i asked do you trade records he said yes wot have you got i said got a few dutch 45s of the beatles while working in holland he said bring them tommorrow i took them the day after 8 off 45s he said i'll take them of you for £80 ok then £40 in pocket records free

dj at lowton charity alldayer last record timi yuro dj comes to me will you sell me that record its my wifes fav tune ill give you £350 for it i said no give me £400 and its yours we finally agreed on£365 good sale eh i never really liked it any way that was about 6 years ago the dj as still got it he was resident at tyke club in bradford

sold ester phillips for £150 at bury town hall to pip the man i think

ben e king gave that away to gareth and his mate from wales for dj'ing at lime street club

so all in all for 8 beatles records totaling 8 gilder which is about £4 i think was a very good find

some times i wish iwould have kept the timi yuro but at the time it was an offer that i could'nt refuse due to the fact that i don't collect british 45s

An absolute "gold-plated" classic, so priceless in musical terms whatever you paid for it ! (Lucky sod!)

The best (and maybe the only) worthwhile record I ever found in a charity shop was the Band of Thieves LP on Ovation, also @.50p (though I "snapped up" the Skullsnaps LP on GSF for £1 at a Record Fair at Wolverhampton Poly. once)

man, being in America, you probably dont want to hear about charity shop finds around here...Devotions on Nation, Jackie Shane "Stand up straight and tall" on Modern, 2 sealed copies of James Conwell LP on Guiness, Johnny Watson "I say I love you", 2 sealed copies of James Mason "Rhythm of Life", sealed copy of Weldon Irvine "Time Capsule"...these are the highlights from this year....not all found at the same place mind you, but roughly $3,400 worth of records for around $10 total..not bad
