Guest Gavin Page Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 I bought this blind last year and thought the same thing myself. Is there much else by them do you know ? Or on the Label ? Not been able to find much out. The vocals are great and it chugs along really nicely
Djr Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Is there much else by them do you know ? Or on the Label ? Not been able to find much out. The vocals are great and it chugs along really nicely I remember googling m-d-l-t willis when I bought it, and I thought there might have been another single by them, but I've never seen it. I just noticed that you listed the label as Liberty Tower. I believe it is on Ivory Tower, unless you have a different release of this record.

Prophonics 2029 Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 I got a copy of the Bobby Taylor LP with Don't Be Afraid US issue, had it on a mowtown CD but I think the digital lacks the subtelties of vinyl. My mate got a strange record by Dawn & The Twilights on Fine Arts and I must say I like both sides, I am hoping he won't like it and sell it me. I will put a sound clip up to see what others think.

Guest Polyvelts Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Just got back from Xmas in Weardale and quite a few 45s I'd been waiting on for ages had appeared. 'Get back to you' Bobby Sparks and Hi tension (Karat) 'Yum Yum Tree' Bobby Bland (Duke) After 'These Hands' my fave BB ! 'Nothing is impossible' Al Perkins (Atco) SLowly becoming one of my favourite voices !! 'Thank you, for loving me' John Gilliam (ICA) Nice soulful ballad on flip that halfway thru gets the reggae treatment - weird but it works. 'Baby, I need you' Fantatstic Johnny C (Phil LA Canadian !!!) 'Big Black Cloud' Kitty Haywood and the Haywood singers (Mercury) 'We were always sweethearts' Boz Scaggs (Columbia) I Know ! But dont judge until youve heard it ! Saw it was Played out at Filthy Soul Nite and had it on a cassette from years ago - lots on gemm -cheap ! Happy New Year

Ficklefingers Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 (edited) Every Time knock's me out and three is another few, All Alone but thats not the title but starts with it. 'As Long As I Have You' defo saw a british 45 release, backed with 'Yesterday' on UA1186 - don't know, but would imagine it also saw a US release also? Have to agree though that it's a crackin' toon!! 'Looking For You', for me, is one of those few 'classic oldies' that still manages to make the hairs on the back of my head stand up!!
