Djr Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 The highlight for me this past week was a copy of Arthur Alexander's "I Need You Baby" showing up. Amazing tune that is unfortunately not quite the VG+ grade the seller stated.....
Guest Johnny Mack Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 Couldnt agree more - I have them all with exception of The Soul children. In fact, have to admit that the McKinnley Mitchell is one of my all time favorite tunes - its what soul music is all about. Brilliant 45 - the other side "Gypsy" is good too. Came out on two different label designs - yellow and pink - don't you just love that pink one with the kiddies in their 'jamas !!! Take care John Music from the gods mate. I have The Icemen, Lew Kirton, Soul Children and Mckinley Mitchell ( I think you made a slight slip on the keyboard) the others I will be looking out for if you say they are anywhere near as good as the aforementioned, hats off to you mate , great taste. Val (Chunky) Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 (edited) BAB - 'Party And Get On Down' - Sugar Aha! Were you the one who got the grossly off-centre copy? Was thinking of buying that and frame it or something. Hope you manage to play it. that's the one.....and very cheap it was too and by simply taking a bar of aluminium and carefully turning it down to 38.15mm dia' thus giving it an interference fit in the said record and then machining in a new centre hole position offset 5.84mm from the original it now plays perfect....apart from it missing the first groove of course Edited December 19, 2007 by Val
