The highlight for me this past week was a copy of Arthur Alexander's "I Need You Baby" showing up.

Amazing tune that is unfortunately not quite the VG+ grade the seller stated.....

Couldnt agree more - I have them all with exception of The Soul children. In fact, have to admit that the McKinnley Mitchell is one of my all time favorite tunes - its what soul music is all about. Brilliant 45 - the other side "Gypsy" is good too. Came out on two different label designs - yellow and pink - don't you just love that pink one with the kiddies in their 'jamas !!!

Take care

John

Agree, lovely tune. Has he done any other things worth picking up, besides 'Southside Chicago' of course? I really like his whining vocals.

Hi Helena,

yes, there is another track which is very nice," you girl", similar style like the above mentioned, same label (exspect more), not expensive at all....(was also just told that it was played in Stafford)

 that's the one.....and very cheap it was too :D and by simply taking a bar of aluminium and carefully turning it down to 38.15mm dia' thus giving it an interference fit in the said record and then machining in a new centre hole position offset 5.84mm from the original it now plays perfect....apart from it missing the first groove of course

had the Valentine Adams version for a long time now but I think this is better (and that is saying something as VA is awesome)

Probably a few versions of this knocking around seems to be one of those "standards"

can't wait to give this its first spin.

Just went out to get a loaf & found the postman had left The Metros LP on the doorstep in the rain. Luckily I dont think it can have been there very long as it was only wet on the outside.

I bought it mainly for Unlucky Son but the whole LP's great with the possible exception of Blue Velvet.
