LOOK WHAT I GOT - WORLD RECORDS

Forgot to put that, DOH!

the boot i believe is on world artists , or vice versa

Posted

They are both on World Artists but the boot is a plain yellow label, the original has (from memory) a logo at the side of the label and World Artists opposite it, same with the white demo, also both originals I think are styrene only and the boot is on vinyl

Pete , mine is yellow and the lable starts WORLD

RECORDS

WORLD ARTISTS

Pittsburgh, Pa

but no logo on it just text

and is also shiny looking so i guess it's a boot!

This is probably an idiot question but how do I tell the difference between Vinyl/Styrene

( Take it easy mate I've been away from the scene for a long time!)

Not your record but this is what a proper World Artists 45 looks like below, and styrene/vinyl: styrene is brittle plastic and the label can be removed, vinyl is more flexible and the label is moulded in and can't be lifted.

Thanks Pete , mines definately a boot then (just Text no logo & Shiny bendy vinyl)

Cheers

Original was released on both styrene and vinyl

Original vinyl copy has a Nashville matrix and Bell Sound stamped into the dead wax...the Bootleg is vinyl with a moulded label

Wasn`t the gerri thomas the one when they first played it almost impossible to aquire without waterdamage on label ? :D

thanks folks , what I dont understand though is why would someone do

a boot that looks nothing like the original ? Although if you dont know

what the original looks like it looks authentic , does that make sense?

I think What I'm trying to say is that surely it is just as easy to copy the original

design than do a different one ?
