Many moons ago I remember reading that Curtis' original lyrics to Major Lance's 'Um um um um um um' were even weirder than those released. Record execs apparently thought that it was too strange for the general public to take in and demanded that he should sensible it up a bit.

This came back to me after I bought a Carolina beach and shag (Sounds good to me...) compilation CD which had quite a fair whack at the song by Luther Kent, and I figured that with the aid of the internet I should be able to find out what those original lyrics were, but so far I've drawn a blank.

Anyone got the full skinny on this?
