Guest davew Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 It's not the Paramounts , it's the Para-Monts... Thanks to everyone who answered my post..and thanks for pointing out the correct title..which i confess i had totally mis-read - for anyone whos interested in some background information Ole` Records was owned by King Bevill who operated from his home address at 9734 Princeton on Chicago's South-Side.The first release was 'Southside Chicago' by Otis Brown in late 1966.The Para-Monts consisting of .lead singer Cormie Vance ;her sister, Earlene Vance Coleman,Rose Rice and McKinley Norris had formed earlier the same year and were spotted by Bevill at a Regal Theater talent show and asked to try out on his label.Bevill demanded some original material so the group went to Earlene's husband :Walter Coleman who played Guitar,he wrote a number of tunes two of which were selected for release in Jan 1967.It is Colemans guitar that is heard on both sides of the record and Earlenes lead on "I Don't Want To Lose You" while the lead vocals on " Come Go With Me " were performed by Cormie Vance...and the record was a minor hit in the Chicago, Memphis and St Louis area. From 'Chigago Soul' by Robert Pruter

From 'Chigago Soul' by Robert Pruter Rose Rice was dating Otis Brown at the time. She left the group and was replaced by Gwendolyn Little, who was previously a member of Henry Ford and the Gifts. Rose apparently died in an accident soon after that. I think that the label was co-owned by Browley Guy by the way.
