Mal C Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 Great Label, some cracking Texas soul sides, But can anybody confirm that 'Ray' who appears in the following releases is the same guy? Vocally their voices do differ from side to side but the amount of 'Rays' here is just too Much, I need to know!! Laughs Ray & The Bel-aires - The Blame is on you Ray & The Blue Satins - She doesn't love me Ray Camacho & The Teardrops - She's so Good to me Mal.C.

Corbett80 Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 wonder if the Ray & The Blue Cats is the same cut of She Dosen't Love Me as the Blue Satins one?

A-5018 Ray Camacho & The Teardrops- She's So Good To Me / ? Wow, so a further Ray track in the Blue Cats release, thanks for the listing. I assume 13 through 17 are missing, I mean they did not jump release numbers as they do occasionally on these smaller labels? The "She Doesn't Love Me " has to be the same side? Kinda reminds me of Dereks' Jessie James / Dick & The Deamonds - Falling Stars track on Lawn, I've searched High and Low for both releases but still looking! Now I probably got add the Ray & The Blue Cats... what you guys doing to me??? Mal
Quinvy Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 I've had this discussion with someone on here before. They sound so different I think all the group members took it in turn to be Ray. Phil.
Corbett80 Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Would be nice to have the Blue Cats 45 and have both the really good Ray sides on one record!
Anoraks Corner Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 From the listing we did over on RareSoulForum.co.uk back in Feb 2005...here are some additions: 5012 A.side is 'Another Lonely Night' 5013 Steve Jordan & The Jordan Brothers - 'Would You Believe' / 'You Keep Me Hanging On' 5018 B.side is 'Sunshine Superman' There are also Falcon/ARV factory sleeves! Never seen or heard of anyone owning a Ray & The Blue Cats.
Corbett80 Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 worth a few bob if someone turned one up then
Guest Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Funny story, I was going through an large number of 45's at a local guys house here in California. I spotted a Ray Camacho & The Teardrops LP resting against the wall. I asked him about it and he instantly became infuriated, as I found out Ray is married to his sister(living in Texas) and they do not get along very well. I offered to take the album off his hands but there was no record in it! Must have destroyed it in a fit of rage! Small world!
