Guest Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 Hi All! Going to Amsterdam on a stag weekend in a two weeks. Will spend most of the nights getting drunk and such like, but are there any decent record shops we can visit during the day. Cheers Mitch.

Hi Mitch, If walk the lanes on the opposite side of the red light area there are quite a few record/book shops to browse through. They have many 'specialist' shops so follow the 'shoppers'. You will stumble upon them all over the place. Ali

Soul Shrews Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 Hi aerobics3, Best record shop by a mile is a shop called "Waxwell" near Dam square, my mate eedeecee has posted the address on here a couple of times, maybe worth a "search" if you can't find the thread(s) then let me know and I'll get my Amsterdam A-Z out. Cheers Paul
gazman Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 I was there in February and found several stalls at the following flea market selling records, some nice looking stuff. Stupidly i decided not to drag my wife and parents round so i decided i would go back later for a good rummage....guess what, ended up going somewhere else and never got near them again. https://www.amsterdam.info/markets/waterlooplein/ good luck gary
Guest Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 THANKS ALL for the help. I have two mates going who are also keen record collectors so will certainly try to get to these places. If i found anying interesting i will add it on to this thread when i get back. Thanks again Mitch.

Happy hunting Cheers Paul P.S. When are you going ? Theres some sorta northern/mod night on in Amsterdam this Friday
Guest Adrian Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 To be honest I thought it was pretty poor, maybe a few bits if you are into jazz and breaks and such like, but for soul I did'nt find much worthwhile at all. Was more than happy spending the day in the cafes with the missus so no complaints.
