Possibly one of the best ever copies offered for sale. GEORGE & SONNY SANDS - DOWN BY THE OCEAN - NEW VOICE DEMO EX 50 SOLD Absolutely incredible atmospheric mid tempo, Righteous Brothers style, buy it blind if you don't know it LAURA GREENE - MOONLIGHT MUSIC IN YOU - RCA DEMO M- 75 Super copy of a classic oldie THE LOLLIPOPS - LOVE IS THE ONLY ANSWER - RCA ISSUE EX- 50 Cracking record and here on a very nice black issue. Minor background noise near start THE BOUQUETS - WECLOME TO MY HEART - BLUE CAT DEMO EX 30 This is a great oldie with strong Detroit connections, recommended DAVID & REUBEN (THE MAJESTICS) - I LOVE HER SO MUCH IT HURTS ME - WARNER BROS DEMO EX- 125 SOLD Apart from one click on the intro this is a great copy. The B side does have an audible scratch on it though. THE SPANDELLS - SAY NO GIRL - DIMENSION DEMO EX- 30 Great little girl group dancer RONNIE FORTE - THAT WAS WHISKEY TALKING - TARX EX 125 Fantastic Wigan oldie - B side had a bit more play so EX- BILLY T SOUL - CALL ON BILLY - MUSICOR DEMO EX 30 Nice old 100 Club stomper THE FI-DELS - TRY A LITTLE HARDER - KEYMEN M- 125 SOLD One of the greatest records ever to emerge from the West Coast and now impossible to find as an original in this condition WILLIE WILLIAMS - HAVE YOU EVER BEEN PLAYED FOR A FOOL - ABC DEMO EX 75 Classic reactivated oldie going way back to the Torch/Cats days THE MODS - DRY MY EYES - FONA VG+ 150 SOLD The reason I'm pricing this at 150 is because despite numerous surface marks (weird ones, not scratches) it plays almost mint, no clicks, nothing - and also for the fact that I honestly can't remember the last time I saw one for sale. THE PERSIONETTES - IT HAPPENS EVERY DAY / CALL ON ME - OR DEMO M- 40 Don't you just love it when people reserve records than never send for them? Been holding this for 3 weeks for someone. Cheers. WENDY RENE - BAR B Q - STAX DEMO VG+ 25 Nice white demo. Odd pop and click but plays nice and loud. THE TEEN TURBANS - WE NEED TO BE LOVED - LOMA M- 50 Great oldie, never really had it's day THE VALA-QUONS - WINDOW SHOPPING ON GIRLS AVENUE - TRC DEMO M- 50 I love this, always buy it when I see it, people now banging on about the B side I Wanna Woman which is good, but not as good as the Jobete published A side RAY CHARLES - I DON'T NEED NO DOCTOR - UK HMV EX 50 An almost untouched UK stock copy - beautiful JOHNNY ACEY - I GO INTO ORBIT - FLING VG++ 20 Not sure what possessed me to buy this, must have thought it was something else! Very bluesy mid tempo R&B sound. Not sure if it's a dj copy or not, black and white labels. LEFTOVERS FROM PREVIOUS WEEKS BLACK EYED PEAS - SMALLEST MAN ALIVE - ULTRA CITY M- 75 Great stuff from the original owners of the name! SAM FLETCHER - I'D THINK IT OVER - TOLLIE EX 250 Lovely stock copy MALCOLM HAYES - I CAN'T MAKE IT WITHOUT YOU / BABY PLEADE DON'T LEAVE ME - OKEH DEMO EX 75 Really surprised this didn't go last week - it's now half the book price MAURICE WILLIAMS - RETURN - SEA HORN EX 50 Good New Orleans dancer ROCK CANDY - ALONE WITH NO LOVE - DONTEE VG++ 50 SOLD Yellow label, plays great, why's it still here? ROY HAMILTON - EARTHQUAKE - EPIC DEMO VG 30 Looks a little on the rough side, plays nice and loud, crackly for first 20 seconds, it'd be fine for djing JOE TEX - ALL THE HEAVEN A MAN REALLY NEEDS - DIAL M- 25 Well I listed this for a fiver the other week and was consequently told it was being played and was no longer a fiver, but I was true to my word, sold it for a fiver, then the buyer said he was sending it back because it jumped 5 times. So it came back, I played it, and it played mint. So not sure what that was all about. Anyway it's for sale again but it's not a fiver this time... HERE'S A TIP FOR YOU... Anyone who likes Jamaican r&b, have a look for a record by PATSY called FIND SOMEONE, it came out in the UK on High Note HS 037 in 1970 as the B side to a skinhead instrumental, "Target" by The Gaytones. It was actually recorded much earlier, I'd have said 64-65 and is a really unusual sound, it's got a kind of lolloping r&b brass backing with a solid beat, I sold mine years ago but always looked out for it and I remembered it when someone posted it in the Jamaican R&B section on Soul Source as an unknown...got it straight away. It's still up there in that section if anyone wants to hear it. Mine's only in VG- condition but I think I'd ask £100 for it now, but do look out for it, it's great. POSTAGE IS £2.00 RECORDED DELIVERY. £5.00 SPECIAL DELIVERY. ANY ITEM OVER £50 MUST GO BY SPECIAL DELIVERY. SAME RATES FOR OVERSEAS EXCEPT ANY ITEM OVER £30 MUST GO SPECIAL DELIVERY AND THIS COSTS £6.00 NORMAL AIRMAIL IS £2.25 01902 893569 TO ORDER OR EMAIL PETE.SMITH@FREEUK.COM AND MY ADDRESS IS AT THE TOP OF THE Edited November 21, 2007 by Pete S
