Guest fuzzyjon Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Dear Ady, We are travelling up from Exeter on Sat, is there anywher to park around the club or are we better off getting the tube in from elsewhere? Thanks VW link Hi You can probably park in Soho Square but it could be quite expensive. Otherwise try parking down Store Street (off Tottenham Court Road) or Denmark Street (off Charing Cross Road). Hope this helps! Jon
Ady Croasdell Posted March 11, 2005 Author Posted March 11, 2005 Dear Ady, We are travelling up from Exeter on Sat, is there anywher to park around the club or are we better off getting the tube in from elsewhere? Thanks VW If you stay North of Oxford St there are side roads and mews where you can normally get a place, but don't go on the yellow lines a cm or they'll have you! PS Trickster is a 100 Club virgin if I'm not mistaken.
Mattbolton Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Hoorah, two 100 Club virgins on as many months then if I'm not mistaken? JT? Unlike sex, your first time is always the best. Big turn out for Chris please. Should make things interesting. I'll be rooting for the underdog. Is he allowed to dance to his own records? This could prove problematic Ady. You haven't thought the logistics through really have you....
Guest Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 I'll be supporting Mark Bicknell at sheridans with my "Northern" mates, but i am sure the old 100 will be another "Cracker".......have fun my friends

Guest James Trouble Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 Really pleased for trickster, one of the real nice guys on and off the scene. He will surprise you tonight. Billy link i've known trickster for almost 8 years, and in that time i've never met anybody more enthusiastic about good music, whether it is funk, northern or keb's latest new release. he is always happy to give 'civilians' a few minutes of his time at jo jo's to tell them about northern and show them a few steps, while the rest of us are more interested in knocking them out the way. i think he got alot of unfair stick about his dance classes, and i for one take my hat off to him. good luck tonight Trickster! play a Daptone record for me!

Cheers Billy link It's great news Trickster has played at the 100 club. Since he started going, I bet he has only missed a handful, and those were probably when he was in Japan. He is one of the 100 clubs most vociferous supporters, so well done Ady, on making his dream come true. I know he and Etsu, lurk on here, so register Chris. Let us know your experience of DJing at the 100. Its something 99% of us will never experience. Congrats mate.

I know I only stayed for a short while, but it was good to see you 'up there'. Well done.
Guest Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 Bloody fantastic night down the 100, Trickster was a star, I didn't think numbers were down at all? The atmosphere was tip top, some fantastic dancing going down towards the end of the night with back drops high kicks giggling and a hand clap (ok so it was me and Mandy doing a turn to Out on the Floor) cheers Mick
Dave Abbott Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 It's going to be a humdinger. link And Ady was not wrong! It was a real humdinger and then some! The full report (adapted from a post on sscdt) of the weekends antics follows:- Friday we went to JesiccKakaka's house leaving party. She lives in a flat that was once a Bryant and May match factory. Quite striking it was. I took my new plastic beaker with secure top and straw from which I drank my wine and larger (I can not be trusted with glasses) On Saturday we went to Carla and Steve's to see baby (beauty btw) and then onto the 100 Club. Trickster was guest DJ and he did himself proud. Though top DJ of the night was awarded to Mick Smith for getting Mandy and Janine on the floor doing some rather splendid back drops and kicks I bought a glass of larger upon arrival at 1.30 and Ady Lupton commented on how it was unfair that I had a proper glass glass and everyone else had to have plastic glasses (commented, close to tears rather), I told him it was because I can be trusted. I still had the same glass with about an inch of the same larger left in the bottom, which I intended to finish, until about 6.30 when it left the table and smashed on the floor (I can not be trusted with glasses) As is customary, we were the last ones to leave the Club A most excellent 100 Club; great atmosphere and a brilliant time Sunday we left Starbucks and went to Ady Lupton's house where we chilled with a nice glass of vodka and orange while Ady played us all his records. Then, in the early evening we went to the Sunday Snug, run in Filthy McNastys pub by Andy BB and BD Kenny. Fantastic time with a great 'back drop' of soul music while fun and games ensued. Most of us won prizes, though Ady Croasdell won the most prizes due to his ability to drink Guinness quicker than anyone else. Backdoor kept setting his bingo card on fire and Ben Summers didn't win any prizes because he's a cheat and a loser (he was caught red-handed on the phone to John Weston trying to solve the soul quiz clues; all to no avail any way as he was disqualified and Abbott/Snow got 100%) . The evening finished with a somewhat heated discussion on what to include on a potential new CD release - working title "Yes these have been Played at Northern Soul Nights. Yes they are Utter Shite". The Selection Board of Croasdell, Abbott, Snow, Brown, Backdoor, Summers and BB could, in the time available, only decide on two 45's to include - 'Scratchy' and another which can not be disclosed at present. It is hoped to get this released under the Kent/Ace label, but talks are expected to last for some time..... And of course we were the last to leave the pub Another brilliant time was had The late addition of Nick Brown to the Selection Board was rather fortunate as we did not have a clue where we were (ok it was London somewhere) and he escorted us safely home A most excellent weekend
Guest Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 Ady Lupton seemed to have an awful lot of disco records, or was it the same one being played over and over again? couldnt tell really, all pretty much the same thing (shite)
