Soul-slider
Recently purchased this Magnificent Seven 45 on 'New Groove'...fabulous piece of haunting northern/garage...got real potential. Never seen it listed anywhere, not in any of the price guides either... What I want to know is are they the same group who recorded on Dial & Eastern?? They are deffo blue eyed. Anyone got any info on the group or heard this New Groove 45? Flip is called 'Farmer John' and has some 60's funk overtones. Any info much appreciated. Was it the Trashmen on HBR? Anyway, suppose this version of 'Farmer John' could be considered 'boogaloo' so definitely a Mod type sound. Like I said though, the Northern side is GREAT!! Someone must have some info on the group????? Edited November 18, 2007 by Soul-Slider Link to comment Social source share

Guest TONY ROUNCE
Farmer John was by The Premiers ...and, before that, by Carl Holmes and the Commanders (Cameo - also came out on UK Columbia)... and before that by Don & Dewey (Specialty) who wrote it, too... ...all great versions, BTW!
