Its really "Six O'Clock" by the Total Eclipse Orchestra, an LP track.
Pete S Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 One of those records that you don't hear for ages, then you listen to it - and it sounds bloody fantastic...then you forget about it again for years
Ernie Andrews Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 I was only playing it off the lp last night as I was having an Lp night One of my favourite instrumentals

Will play you the lovin spoonful vocal version at the next Beat Club if you like - not soul but a great bit of far-out pop!!!

Barry Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 (edited) May be seen as a cheesy cut now, but to me - Pure Wigan - Ace!! A Soussan special. Edited November 16, 2007 by Barry
soulAdequateNP Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 I believe the "supertime" boot was actually speeded up from the original lp track n'est-ce pas?
45cellar Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 (edited) I believe the "supertime" boot was actually speeded up from the original lp track n'est-ce pas? Two of the best Northern Instrumentals, and Yes there are others, I know. Supertime (6 O'Clock) & Afternoon On The Rhino Both originally L.P. Only. I wonder If the Value would be more if Originally on 45 Don't get me wrong I still play them from the L.P. Shame they didn't make it to the 45 Format Originally. Just like "Bubblegum Breakthrough" did. In some ways the Stephanye & Soul Beat - Boot's made them more accessable to the masses by being more user friendly. Edited November 17, 2007 by 45cellar
