How does taking a photo of you (or your mate) under the casino sign in anyway threaten children? :)

DEFINATELY a Jobsworth - you should have really put him on the spot and said "So you're suggesting that I'm a peadophile then?" he'd have really sh*t hiself then

We stopped off here on the way home from Blackpool and the same thing happend to us

We got a few pics before two security guards came over and told us to stop taking photos.

They said it was an anti terrorist precaution!

I said i really was this fat and not a suicide bomber hiding 10 k of semtex

They didnt laugh!!!

We then left and they followed us down the stairs and halfway to our car!!!

Ridiculous!!!

You can see why they wanted to censor you though.

Badges have got to be the naffest aspect of the scene, when they started coming out with them, they reminded me of the stickers my parents would put in the car windows for each of the places we'd visited; and my folks weren't very hip. That's why you'll never get an authentic 6TS badge, just lovely vinyl.

The triangular ones...just as bad the badges you put on your jacket to say where you'd been

No there wasn't . There was a petition on the government's site calling fo a non existent (as usual with these petitions) non impending and utterly fictituous ban on public photography.

What we do have is heavies and other members of the great British public thinking photographers should not be taking photographs in public because they might be paedophiles, terrorists or that the public has the right not to be photographed.

To clear up any possible confusion over government policy on ID cards, a spokesman for the Home Office told us that he was not aware of government plans requiring photographers to carry an ID card before taking pictures in a public place.

For the rest of this story which was started by a photographer harrassed by some of the above check here

Whilst I have no desire to take pictures of the Casino Cafe, preferring instead to remember the place as it was, each to their own. And to me this is just another example of what's wrong this this country. I am all for protecting kids, anti terrorism etc, but some of these numbnuts don't seem to have an ounce of common sense in them. In the old days there was something called "discretion", where you assessed the situation and took a view. I realise this is harder now, but it seems as if there's a whole army of people writing silly rules, and an even bigger army of small-brains "carrying out" these "rules".

One of the reasons security don't want pictures taken, is in case they're on them and someone recognises them from Crimewatch!:lol:
