Yes I play it from a compilation if you say its impossible to get on OG (and probably more than I can efford!) - Is the sound very lousy on the compilation or should I really buy a CD?

Cool - Tried to Google but could only find 2 compilations with the track on, but none of these says anything about "Wild!" in the title or are on Stateside.Needs the one with the best sound. As you have it or have heard the sound quality - I would be pleased to know if the one youre thinking of is one of these:

"Those Great Blues Girls From The 40's" on Capitol from 1985.

or..."Hot Matadors", Bunkerhill from end 90ies/ start 00....

Ill be very pleased if you know anything...BEst Santa

Well I would rather play a good track than to be to proud thinking myself as a very very serious record collector - and then get old and find out I was only fooling myself. This is not Britain! If its that rare, noone will hear this track if I dont play it - wouldnt that be a shame? But thanks anyway - ill go for the Capital one...so I guess theres no compilation called "wild!" on Stateside after all...

Forgot to tell you - I live in Copenhagen - dont think theres anyone here having heard this one out...maybe some of the 10 northern soul guys who dances with eachother every second month at a trip to a real UK northern soul club. Anyway this track would not be allowed at the danish club anyway, as its "too 50ies" somehow. So noone have tried to dance to it in Copenhagen or Denmark probably - I wont let a question about a original press decide that! Ill play it and mix it as well.

Fair enough, but I could say the same about Yorkshire. No one in Yorkshire has a copy either (unless I drag a Gramophone down and play my 78 of it!), so am i Ok to play it off the Wild! compilation that i also have, just so it gets heard?

Sure I am allowed to, but a far better choice would be to play what I do have and book Merv to guest DJ, who has the original 45 (allegedly biggrin.gif ) and then I get a good DJ with a load more new stuff for us all to hear as well and you're supporting the kind of person who finds this stuff in the first place for us all to play off compilations, or copy their plays.

Not having a go, i appreciate it's good that you're playing this sort of stuff in Copenhagen, but where do you draw the line of places it's acceptable to play re-issues because trhere's no DJ there with every record you want to hear? Germany? France? Scotland? Leeds? biggrin.gif

Well If noone didnt give a damn I guess it was OK, and thats my situation in Denmark. Im not part of a subculture or scene with authorities, like a DJ in Yorkshire probably would fell he was. Would hate not to be able to play the track because someone from a subculture ive only read about was saying that it was not the right way to do it - sure its not, and the right ideal way would be to find the records by yourself, just like the subculture ive read about, but that would mean I couldnt play any off LP tracks for instance, since they never came to my country. Anyway I just bought that compilation - looking forward to play it and all the gals go crazy...then Ill leave the original Jo ann Henderson at home...
