boba
Hi there, Does anyone know if The Charmels - I'll Never Grow Old was ever released on a 45? Thanks a lot for your help. Rich. the track is actually called "as long as I've got you" and it was released on a 45, it is the hardest of all the charmels 45s to find... it also doesn't help that rap and funk collectors are looking for it too, but it was hard to find even before it was sampled. Blake H
That has just answerd my question, The album Stax Sirens & Volt Vamps shows "I'll never grow old" ( the fourth line of "as long as I have you) as unissued, guess they came up with a better title for the song BH Link to comment Social source share
Sleeps45
theres one real nice cut that they did "ive done it again" but I dont think it was ever released on 45 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_WxoYcb3ek Link to comment Social source share
boba
plus I think you'd have to pay more than the $150 you had to pay in 2007. this unreleased track is awesome, thanks for posting it. Link to comment Social source share

Dean Rudland
man this unreleased track is awesome Agreed. It was on a deleted Kent Crossover CD. I've put it on the Stax Southern Soul compilation which is coming out on Kent at the end of March. The whole horn arrangement is very reminiscent of something from Isaac Hayes early albums (Ike's Mood I think) Dean Link to comment Social source share

Perhaps the masters were labeled as such and then altered for the actual release. I have a Jap CD of Ronn material "A Woman's Love - Classic Soul Jewelry Vol 1" and on there is a Joe Valentine "You've Got To Believe In Me". I couldn't find any 45 of that title so for quite a while presumed it to be unissued. Later I happened to hear the flip to his "I Lost The Only Love I Had" and guess what, yup its on the flip as "Surely I'll Never Do You Wrong" Link to comment Social source share
