Simon T Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 nobody any ideas on this one? its on a 12" columbia ind. santa monica calif. usa Tenous link time! Maybe it's the test press of the 12" for Salsoul records? The Salsoul releases were distibuted through CBS? CBS owned Columbia Columbia has a pressing plant in Terre Haute, Indiana. They also had another plant in Santa Maria, California and another West Coast factory in Hollywood California. Maybe their West coast office was in santa monica calif. usa
Ian Dewhirst Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Must be a test press from the record plant - that's really the only explanation. Also Salsoul ran through a few majors at different times - generally it was RCA in the 70's so maybe they switched to Columbia for a while in the 80's which would make sense..... I'll check in the next few days - I ran the UK Salsoul label from 2002-2005 and I'm still in touch with 'em so I'll let you know what the prognosis is....... Best, Ian D
Prophonics 2029 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 (edited) What's it say in the dead wax and do you think its the same version. £70 for a plain paper label, suppose if it was the 7" £180. Edited November 7, 2007 by Prophonics 2029
