Willie and the Handjives - Veep 1227 - their only release on the label.

Not one of veep's finest releases but always been a semi collectable upbeat item on the label - wouldn't value it more than 20 pounds myself but it's probably at about 40 or 50 pounds based on current values.

Sound file at www.soulclub.org for what it's worth !

Cheers,

John.

Crikey, not heard this in ages!!! Will dig it out of the boxes and give it a play at Mark Bicknell's allnighter at Sheridans in the mid tempo lounge this saturday  I'll wait till you've consumed at least 4 pints though......

This record has been doing it's rounds on tapes for years without actually making an impact, great track IMO.......Just lacks a little Ummmph if you now what I mean.

possibly why it's never really gone big.

I know John my old mucker - I've had it since about '89 and on a tape for a few years before that  I'll give it my best oomph... whistling.gif

I used to spin this around '87/'88 as did one or two others. Been around the £50 mark forever it seems. As already mentioned more a tape collectors item as it never really took off.

Don't think you can say this record never really made an impact.

Remember it being played loads down the 100 club in the 80's 'Gotta find a new love' side, flip side ain't bad either.

Got plays all over John, Tony's when Guy ran it, Bradford but still say it never really hit the spot for the dancers.
