Guest Posted November 4, 2003 Posted November 4, 2003 Years ago at a Hyde Allnighter I heard two records and damned if I can remember what they were! One I think was a Buddy Ace 45 mid tempo big voice perhaps his rarest? The other was a beautiful femme mid pacer with seagull sounds at the beginning!? On a red label I think. Anyone know anything?
Mike Posted November 4, 2003 Posted November 4, 2003 living in Llandudno think every 45 play has a seagull intro, cant help you there maybe easiest way to suss out buddy ace is to sort what its not, "its going to be me" duke ? not rare like, but as one of all time favs, be interested if reckon hes done better cheers mike
Martint Posted November 4, 2003 Posted November 4, 2003 another suggestion- how about 'screaming please' also on Duke- there's a few Buddy Ace's on www.soulclub.org so have a gander over there, should eliminate a few as Mike suggested... Martin

Mike Posted November 7, 2003 Posted November 7, 2003 there you go soulrich straight from the horses mouth maybe (no offence Ian:)) How does the "true love.." compare to his "gonna be me" Ian, worth digging it up??
Guest Posted November 8, 2003 Posted November 8, 2003 Hi True love money cant buy teriffic 45 use to get plays all over the N/West from the late 80,s it,s my favourite 45 by Buddy Ace a surefire dancefloor winner much better than Its gonna be me which is also a great 45......... Regards IAN C
Mike Posted November 9, 2003 Posted November 9, 2003 much better than Its gonna be me which is also a great 45......... Regards IAN C in early hours of saturday morning "its gonna be me" blew me yet again away, at a after event played loud and proud, but the quote "much better than.." has forced to me to investigate as always most impressed by your tapes/sessions/sets
Chalky Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 Not sure about femme track with seagulls but there's a male mid tempo with seagulls "Fransiscans -Walk To the Bottom Of The Sea" on Jimbo. Chalky
