Which label was this first issued on Lakeside or Candle Lite? I've got a copy on Lakeside, but just something that puzzles me  . Thanks.

How many acts did this song ?

Just Maurice Jackson and later Leroy Hutson.

The backing group on Lucky Fellow is the Contributors of Soul + Emmett Garner of the Trends. The female singers are Donny Hathaway's and Leroy Hutson's wives.

Maurice Jackson was in the independents, I thought the version on the LP was just a rerelease of his record, is it a different version? Thanks.

Pretty sure the Independents version is the same as the released Maurice Jackson version.

Major Harris does a great track called "Lucky fellow" which gives tune wise more than a nod at the independants version.

Also done by Snowboy with Noel McKoy on vocals.

You'll notice that this version has strings in place of the almost operatic female wailing on the ' 45 version , I think this version is probably better , great song anyway .Best ,Eddie

Sublime version - One Of Those 'Achingly soulful' records.
