Simply one of the best gospel soul spiritual 45's I've come across. Infinitely rarer than her sides for Revival, 'This is the real thing' is so heart wrenchingly moody and moving, with Shirley stating her religious case to nothing more than a gentle blues guitar riff. Beautiful record.
