Guest Paul Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Hello, It should be noted that "In My World" on New London International is a completely different cut to the (much superior) "My World" which was issued by Polydor on the flip side of "Say Yeah". They were recorded at different studios with different musicians etc. The Polydor version was one of four tracks Sam Dees recorded at Malaco in 1978. He was signed to Unichappell Music at the time (which explains the release on Polydor) but those companies valued him more as a writer than an artist. The other tracks Dees cut at Malaco were "What Do We Have To Lose" and "Troubled Waters", both of which remained unissued until 2003 when they were licensed by Millbrand to Grapevine for the albums America's Most Wanted (GVCD 3007) and Troubled Waters (GVCD 3010) respectively. By the way, if anyone hasn't heard "Troubled Waters", it's every bit as good as "My World" - maybe even better. Best regards, Paul Mooney

Guest Paul Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Paul, Any chance of a new single? John Hello John, Yes we have a new Sam Dees single scheduled for release on our Shotgun label (SHOT 103) in January 2008. The recently discovered "Fool Of The Year" backed with "Train To Tampa", both of which were recorded at Sound of Birmingham in the early 1970s. The release has been delayed a little because I've been very busy and I'd like to do some advance promotion before release. By the way, I recently did a sync and master deal to place "Train To Tampa" in a new movie which will have a cinema release in February 2008 so the timing will work out good. Best regards, Paul Mooney www.millbrand.com
