Guest hurryup
no 1 , im no snob , no 2 in my opinion this isnt political clap trap ,and further more the poeple i reffered to as the baggie pants brigade , are those who sit and moan the scene isnt atracting new blood are the same ones that are slating the younger kids who do come on the scene, and dont tell me isnt true cause i have seen it and just kook at the thread a couple of weeks ago. and no i am no trained psychiatrist but you lot just sit and listen to the same shite week in week out, move on for christ sake, this is 2007 not 1967 Excuse me but do you know me . And who, exactly, do you mean by "you lot?" You haven't got a clue who I am or what I do each week so how can you assume the above!!!! Said before, you really shouldn't generalise or stereotype. Plus - I think you need to practice what you preach - yes it's 2007 NOT 1967. One last point - I'm glad to say I don't fit into any of your childish categories, thank goodness I suggest you chill mate, there's more important things in life to worry about Link to comment Social source share
Guest hurryup
If people want to discuss Kev's statement on the scene I suggest you start a new topic and leave this one for the purpose it was intended. Yes, I agree, apologies to all Link to comment Social source share
Guest Mart B
There are three types of people on this scene, 1. The Originals and Rare- Its like a hard to find record that you have been looking for over the years and could never afford, these people are very few and far between, and what what you can call true friends for life. 2. The Reissues - These are the people who come onto the scene, and think they should be the be all and end all, believe me you're not! 3. The Boots - The people who have come back after being to a couple of dos in the 7ts, think they know it all, the wannabe crowd who still wear the baggies and badges who think its just the same as it was at the last event they went too in the 7ts. Karen and Rob have my full support both in the past, present and indeed the future, and anything that they decide to do can only be a good thing. These two people fit into catogory 1 in my book. MadKev. I Madkev.. I respect your thoughts on 1..2..3.. but keep them to"yourself" trust me! Rob and Karen top guys ive known rob since the seventies robs got northern soul in his blood hes a great promoter and hes got a great record collection "you dont get them over nite".. dont forget robs been running soul clubs since the late seventies- early eighties and he was on the scene when alot on here posting at "present "wasnt no were near the"scene". ...robs provided alot of "memories" to alot of us soul crowd.Rob has kept the ""scences" continuity if wasnt for people like rob the scene wouldnt be has healthy has it is today! you have my full support rob & karen. John Al
I'll start this, as I've never really DJ'd there, so have no real motive for doing this. Other than I know how hard it is as a promoter, when your up, people want to knock you down. Don't really know him, only spoken to him a a few times and he seems a nice guy. But he has done a fantastic job with the weekender and I know first hand that many artists in the US have been so pleased to perform there. So lets be having you words of support for the guy, may help in the future or lift his spirits Lots of rumour and innuendo coming out but I'm sure that Rob & Karen will overcome any small setbacks - you are bigger than that. Known 'em both over 22 years and know that there is plenty of support out there, including ours. Rob, bet you can't remember that time in my old house in Swindon when Marolyn didn't know a certain 80's record - so we sang it to her! Now THAT's friendship! Tenner says you can't remember the song......... Looking forward to Karen's birthday bash next weekend and to seeing at Stolen Hours in Ramsgate 2 weeks later for mine!! Take care, John & Marolyn. As I said - you should practice what you preach - keep your opinions to yourself and I wouldn't have wasted my time replying to your comments in the first place I know I shouldn't rise to it but I love a good "debate," perhaps we should meet up and iron out our differences down the local oldies night Sorry, gone off topic again Link to comment Social source share
