Dave Thorley
I'll start this, as I've never really DJ'd there, so have no real motive for doing this. Other than I know how hard it is as a promoter, when your up, people want to knock you down. Don't really know him, only spoken to him a a few times and he seems a nice guy. But he has done a fantastic job with the weekender and I know first hand that many artists in the US have been so pleased to perform there. So lets be having you words of support for the guy, may help in the future or lift his spirits Link to comment Social source share

Mark Bicknell
Both Rob and Karen are good friends of ours and whatever has gone off here is very sad indeed, I've not DJ'd at the weekender since 2004 but did the first few and Rob's commitment and professional approach to all aspects of the event were second to none, you can sometimes put your heart and soul into something and still be pushed out of the picture, you both have our support and we are down the end of a phone if you need a chat. As I have said Rob & Karen Wigley have been asked to leave the management of the weekender. Will anyone know the full story ?, I dought it. But who cares, if only for their contribution in the past to the UK soul scene I gave people that are aware to some extent, of recent happenings a chance to voice some positive remarks and support. If you not aware of anything that has recently happen or don't not know who they are, don't contribute. If you are asking for 'Stop the car as you drive by' blow by blow account, i'm sure that can be found if you try. As has been said by several on here and comfirmed by people at the event, they were asked to leave after an incident at the weekender. Guest madkev
There are three types of people on this scene, 1. The Originals and Rare- Its like a hard to find record that you have been looking for over the years and could never afford, these people are very few and far between, and what what you can call true friends for life. 2. The Reissues - These are the people who come onto the scene, and think they should be the be all and end all, believe me you're not! 3. The Boots - The people who have come back after being to a couple of dos in the 7ts, think they know it all, the wannabe crowd who still wear the baggies and badges who think its just the same as it was at the last event they went too in the 7ts. Karen and Rob have my full support both in the past, present and indeed the future, and anything that they decide to do can only be a good thing. These two people fit into catogory 1 in my book. What's it got to do with what's happened to Karen and Rob Wigley anyway? Who cares when people actually got into the scene. I'm a 4th type - An MP3 of a tailor made track - I used to be active on the scene, am not any longer, still collect to a certain extent, have no idea about the current big tracks, what stuff is worth, who's in vogue or not (and don't care).
