Guest gb2nyc
I uploaded the few pics I took back in 1980 at Peterborough, the camera was not too great as these are the only ones that came out. Any comments on where/who these people are would be great. I know Billy is still in Norwich. TTFN Angie Edited October 13, 2007 by gb2nyc Link to comment Social source share

M No mate,Micks on his 3rd divorce now.Havent seen Karen for a few years, but she stayed in the Bedford area after the split. Macca, were you also known as Mackie back in the day?If you were, then we know each other,in fact I think I drove you,Rhyder & (Ithink) Johnnie Barr to Skeggy to see The Jam.I used to be one of the Bedford crowd who used to hang around in Peterborough for periods longer than most would consider healthy ,(Gareth,Mick,Tony W,Bev,Maggie,Tommy,Rob,Sue included). They used to call me 'Merv' for some obscure reason.I used to go out with a Peterborough lass myself (Karen T). Now that is a shock - I knew him from the Fleet days and whilst temporarily living in Dogsthorpe I have to smile at the memory of him trying to tempt me into borrowing things from a chemist when it was shut. We even went and timed a dress rehearsal at night. Needless to say it thankfully never went ahead. Have to say he sprung to mind as soon as I saw the pic but was unaware of his passing away. Some of the pics were taken at The Fleet (Martyn's Mini), Wigan, St. Neots All-nighter & Loughborough Town Hall All-nighter either in the late 70's or 1980 - 81.debonaires___loving_you_takes_all_of_my_time.mp3 Edited October 17, 2007 by martinsbox Link to comment Social source share

Some of the pics were taken at The Fleet (Martyn's Mini), Wigan, St. Neots All-nighter & Loughborough Town Hall All-nighter either in the late 70's or 1980 - 81. Oh for the wings of a crusty ! (Mick Lewin-Fleet Alnighter 1979). What was he on about?Well, who knows, but it seems appropriate to this thread.......... As usual from you, some cracking photo's ,plus The Debonairs (I'd forgotten that one, added to wants list). Looking back at The Fleet from its first nighter in 78 to when I seem to remember it getting closed (83 ?),the most obvious thing in hindsite was how we all took it for granted at the time,(longing for St Ives nighters to start again, looking forward to Yate/Wigan,spending all night in the coffee bar or brick kilns (on occasion )).When,in fact it was a top nighter breaking newies from the top DJs of the time (Sam,Arthur,Ginger,John Vincent,Pat Brady) backed up with the best of the rest (Hammy,Tony W,Nev,Tony Clayton Kev Draper etc)..........If I had a time machine I would stay out of the coffee bar more The most remarkable thing about The Fleet though, was everyone knew everyone , Yate used to be simillar. Also every man (and his copy of Barbara English-All The Good Times Are Gone) seemed totally I propose a toast to 'The Fleet Regulars',may their brain cells re-group in Heaven ! Guest
Hey Angie, It was nice seeing you last week. Not sure I can make it to Forte Green tonite. Let me know if anything bigger in the Northern scene comes up (in the USA that is!). Link to comment Social source share
