Its the deep soul flip I like so I saved myself a lot of money by buying the radio city release

Modernsoulsucks Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 There are a couple on there I'd be interested in. Any chance of emending original post to show condition. ROD
Ernie Andrews Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 I know this sounds daft but there are a couple on your list I have not a clue about price so dont know what to bid How about a guide on them like a proper auction does eg £300-£500 at least them I ewould have some idea

If there is a record you want, put a bid in and you might get it. If you don't then you don't - what's complicated about that?
Gasher Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 got to agree whats the point in offering if only to be told sorry I didnt raise enough so you cant have the ones you offered on?? weird.........not how it works surley if your offer is accepted then they should be sold?? I would have thought... but hey what do I know gasher
Guest dundeedavie Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 It seems fairly simple to me. If there is a record you want, put a bid in and you might get it. If you don't then you don't - what's complicated about that? whats complicated Donna (hello btw) is that Warren is saying if he doesn't raise enough they won't be sold ...there is a couple of items on that list i'd be in for but i don't see the point Davie

If you don't then you don't - what's complicated about that? Whats it gotta`do with you?,say i offer £500 plus for a tune my last £500 and pass up on something else i could have deffo`had then be told my bid is no more
Simsy Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 who is the ebay bloke with all the youtube links?
Prophonics 2029 Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Any hints on the condition of the discs? Scuffs, marks, cue burn or Mint.

Dont take it so seriously. Make an offer or dont make an offer - tis all there is to it. If you have your last £500 then it will be up to you whether you bid on something and take a chance or take the other one you were thinking about - how is that Warrens responsibility?

Simsy Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Warren been quiet since posting. Perhaps could advise where we're up to?
Boogaloo Posted October 14, 2007 Author Posted October 14, 2007 Taken on board the comments on the gradings and have amended the original posting. All records are VG++ unless stated. Anyway if you're lucky and you don't think it comes up to scratch I'll offer a full refund and I'll pay the postage - can't say fairer than that. Regarding the comments about the way I'm doing this - I've sold records in the past to fund other sales - twice I've not got the record and lost good records in the process. Anyway if you don't want to bid - Don't. Lew Stanley's been selling like this for years and no one complains. I've had quite a few good offers but just to let you know there won't be any bargains from this list. Good luck all.
Pete S Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Taken on board the comments on the gradings and have amended the original posting. All records are VG++ unless stated. Thats no help whatsoever, VG++ is a used record and most people want EX/M, it only takes 10 minutes to grade records
Simsy Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Thats no help whatsoever, VG++ is a used record and most people want EX/M, it only takes 10 minutes to grade records Well it's some help. Just means offers will be less if the majority of them are VG++ as opposed to M-, or Ex ..
Pete S Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Well it's some help. Just means offers will be less if the majority of them are VG++ as opposed to M-, or Ex .. If you say so. It's just that if I wanted to make some offers I'd adjust the price as to whether the record was mint, ex, or vg++ - makes a hell of a difference
Jumpinjoan Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Lew Stanley's been selling like this for years and no one complains. No he hasn't... his records are definitely for sale.. yours aren't.

Reg Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Mmm seems a bit silly to me..think I'd rather not waste my time bidding for a record that might not even be for sale...
Simsy Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Anyway if you don't want to bid - Don't. Above says it all. Not sure this sort of practice would be a good thing on a regular basis in here though.
Ted Massey Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Why would any one want to devalue their collection just to get what is bascically a pop record IMO if its the one im thinking about
Guest Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Above says it all. Not sure this sort of practice would be a good thing on a regular basis in here though. What!! just for some, tell you what i`ll put my whole collection up for offers, cant be arsed bothering with a list,or stating conditions and if ya`want to bid bid if you dont dont,as long as nobody gets any bargains i`m happy with that.
Guest Stuart T Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Why would any one want to devalue their collection just to get what is bascically a pop record IMO if its the one im thinking about Almost any of these records is better if I'm thinking of the same record too. Keep 'em Warren, you may regret it otherwise.
Guest woolie mark Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 i don't really see what the problem is here, seems to me warren couldn't be clearer ie: they're not for sale but if you wanna make him an offer and he gets the record he is after he will look at all of the offers and sell enough to pay for his new purchase i would suggest that if you don't like that arrangement don't make him any offers there's some nice records on that list and there's a chance that you might get some of them for what you want to pay, rather than what he would be asking if they were in his sales box (which i can assure you they haven't been) if you want items at set sale with detailed grading, i'm sure warren will be pleased to send you a list of what actually is in his sales box he's said he isn't gonna give anything away, which means there's unlikely to be any prospect of a profit in selling-on i shall certainly be making him some offers - if i get any of them i will be well pleased - if not, then there's plenty more fish in the sea fix up people, they're only records......not life and death

Pete S Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Followed by Pete Smith, specialist subject - Sarcasm 1960 to 1970 Yeah I know but I still think it's hard to make a bid on a record when you don't know it's exact condition. I wouldn't try and sell you a record without telling you what shape it was in.

It sounds to me that Warren is defining mint as totally unplayed? Perhaps warren could put up his grading criteria?
Boogaloo Posted October 19, 2007 Author Posted October 19, 2007 Cancel my offfer Warren, I'd rather know what the condition is on a record before I bid. shame Pat Lewis is n't mint any more good luck though mate... It's in the same condition as when you sold it to me but I wouldn't have called it mint when I bought it off you - just shows how good my gradings are . Will be closing the offers at 12 midday tomorrow. I've had quite a few pms asking what particular records are going for but I'm not interested in playing bidders against each other so would advise that if you want a record that you place a bid. As I said earlier I'll offer a sound file to all winning bidders so you can hear before you buy. Cheers
