Tommaso Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 (edited) Hi, looking for this cheap r'n'b, craig moerer has one for sale for 25$ but I prefer to buy from europe to save time on shipment, as I've waited more or less a month for all the 45s bought from the US recently, and I'll dj on October 27th. Thanks Edited October 12, 2007 by Tommaso

Tommaso Posted October 12, 2007 Author Posted October 12, 2007 released two or three times under different name and labels. Is it enough to say that I'd like to have the one on Revis? I didn't know that, thanks for the info
Chalky Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 (edited) Is it enough to say that I'd like to have the one on Revis? I didn't know that, thanks for the info It came out on Cenco I believe as Little Darlin' although I can't be certain till I actually get the record...so if anyone got one for sale on Cenco Also released as Ozzie Osborne on Rayco. All this and more in the article about Kell I've written in the next issue of Shades Of Soul! Edited October 12, 2007 by chalky
Ady Potts Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 It came out on Cenco I believe as Little Darlin' although I can't be certain till I actually get the record...so if anyone got one for sale on Cenco Also released as Ozzie Osborne on Rayco. All this and more in the article about Kell I've written in the next issue of Shades Of Soul! It did come out as "something for the books" chalky, in March 1961 Sorry, not got a double on it at the moment though. Regards, pottsy. ps I'd better have a listen to it, to be honest i've never played it before, it's just that i've collected the label.
Ady Potts Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Just had a look in the Soul Harmony book & they have Cenco 1003 down as Lonely is the night / Little darling, that's strange. Looks like the Cenco release must be the 1st one, as the Rayco one is 1965. Listening to it at the moment, 'something fo the books' is ok, but the 'Lonely is the night' is brilliant (if you like slower numbers) plus it has a bit of group backing.

Maybe issued as Little Darlin'? Lonely Is The Night (great slowie innit) issued on another label too, all down to Billy Revis. Fair few of Kell's output issued under different name (Ozzie), different labels or different title. If you find one I'll take it!! Edited October 13, 2007 by chalky
Chalky Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 (edited) forgot to add as far as I'm aware Cenco was the first in '62, Revis a year later and then again in '65 as Ozzie Osborne on Rayco. Edited October 13, 2007 by chalky
Ady Potts Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 forgot to add as far as I'm aware Cenco was the first in '62,........ The Cenco delta is 39025.

Chalky, My data says Revis & Rayco 1962. Cenco 1961 Not sure how I came up with those years as it's been on my database for years and years. Probably lifted it off delta #'s, as I always do that if a delta # is present. Anyway Ozzie Osbourne was still in Dudley in 1965. John

John I'll check my notes John but Kell said that the Rayco one issued as Ozzie was done without his knowledge by Billy Revis whilst Kell was serving in forces (drafted in or around '63). If you get a copy of the Cenco or the Rayco one give me a shout
Chalky Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 (edited) The Cenco delta is 39025. that would make it march/april '61 then any chance of a scan of both sides (without sleeve?) Ady to add to the article I've done? Edited October 14, 2007 by chalky
