Guest soul99 easylay Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 I was browsing at a car boot sale (that my Mrs dragged me to recently) and as always I gravitated towards the various old record boxes - unfortunately there weren't any hidden classics unearthed, but I did find a cracking little CD for £1 - how's this for a great little NS mix CD: Sam Dees - Lonely for you baby The Valentines - Breakaway Wade Flemons - That other place Ann Sexton - You've been gone too long Roscoe Shelton - You're the dream Sid Barnes - I hurt on the other side Ted Ford - You're gonna need me Maurice Williams - Being without you Lee Bates - Why don't you write Willie Harper - But I couldn't Little Richie - Just another heartache Don Varner - Tear stained face Linda Jones - You hit me like TNT Gene Chandler - Check Yourself The Rivingtons - I love you always Roddie Joy - If there's anything else that you want (let me know) Betty Everett - Getting mighty crowded The Ad-libs - Johnny my boy Gwen Davies - My man don't think I know Jackie Beavers - Hold on Some well know oldies (and bloody damn fine goodies) and a few I hadn't heard before! But let's face it - it's a damn fine quid well spent!!! I know that most of you folks only do the black vinyl stuff - but you can't listen to them in your car (cos the needle jumps) , so if you're interested, it was released on Dynamic Entertainment 2003. Enjoy!

I can tell you the live musical is very good. Obviously the BIG tune amongst the singles produced from this albumn was Walter Murphy with the FANTASIC 'California strut' on the flip..... Right up there with Linda and the Funky boys in the alternative top 500.... Long live Northern Disco Funk Soul................................ Ed
