Ok lets try this here then - this isn't a 'Scene' type of events, just good music, good ambience, no dance floor, but if you're in the area a good place to go and hear some tunes in a laid back atmosphere.

And what about this in Saturday's Guardian

Room For Northern Soul

Leeds

Move over Wigan - the Observers' Best Restaurant Yorkshire and Humberside 2005 is ready to steal your crown as king of the northern soul scene. With DJ Kenny Burrell, Room co-proprietor John Pallagi hopes to emulate the success of sweaty 1960s all-nighters, albeit with a more sophisticated slant on proceedings. American soul food favourites like meatloaf, BBQ chicken with fried yams, black-eyed pea gumbo, cajun shrimp salad, pork and beans and peanut butter brownies help make up the special three-course menu for this Friday's dinner dance. Should it all become too much, souled-out soulers can sample the restorative qualities of the cocktail bars' signature martini, Va Va Vroom, combining premium vodkas, Parfait Amour, crisp sauvignon blanc, apple juice, Chambord and rose water.
