Top Ten Northern Soul And Modern Soul Tunes

Everybody comes from different places, backgrounds etc and has different tastes in music. I just wondered what would be your ultimate Top Ten Northern Soul and Modern Soul Tunes.

Although my own top ten does vary as I'm sure everybody's does, these ten never seem to be too far away.

4. PETE WARNER - I JUST WANT TO SPEND MY LIFE WITH YOU

7. TERRY CALLIER - LOOK AT ME NOW

8. BOBBY ANGELLE - IT'S JUST GOTTA BE THAT WAY

10. BERNARD WILLIAMS - FOCUSED ON YOU

2. There are way too many darn fine Soul songs out there to choose from

3. There aint no such thing as a good modern soul song anyway

But just for the record (excuse the pun) - there would be some well played out tunes in my top 10

Jackie Wilson - Soul Galore, The Who Who Song, The Flirtations - Nothing But A Heartache, Gene Toones - What More Do You Want, R Dean taylor - There's A Ghost, Tony Clarke - Landslide, Frank Wilson - Do I Love You (still does it for me), Frankie Valli - The Night, Ramsey Lewis - Wade In The water, The Trends - Thanks For a Little Lovin' etc etc etc - and yeah I know

You can congratulate Mr Godzilla for Gene Toones - he keeps me on track when I venture too far into pop (Bob Brady) or Mod territory!

I have to say it's pretty much oldies all the way for me!
