Guest ruffsounds Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Read in the financial reports of the Sun today that both Edwin Starr and George McRae's back catalogues were sold to One Media for £22,500 now thats what i call cheap, i wonder if any unreleased stuff is amongst this little bargain buy. What do you think and will One Media bring any of this stuff out. cheers Ruffsounds
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Like many 60s and 70s soulsters, both these artists made mid 80s recuts of their hits for the 'supermarket CD market' and that, I am sure, is what One Medai would have bought. EMI own all of McCrae's original TK material, and I can't see Universal letting Edwin's Ric Tic, Gordy or 20th Century recordings go for a pittance (or at all, for that matter - why would they, they are hardly short of a few bob...)
Guest Paul Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Tony is right, One Media bought rights in perpetuity to a number of rerecordings of hits by George McCrae and Edwin Starr. Paul Mooney
