Had a sad phone call from Steve "Budgie" Burgess this morning, informing me that Sue Paris (Susie Campbell as she was in the 70's) has passed away. Sue was one of our crowd, Micky Beatons girlfriend at the time, and we shared countless journeys to Yate. Although not on the scene, I used to see her fairly often in town, so this news is gutting.

My thoughts are with hubby Alan and all her family and friends.

Here's a memory of happier times, Yate 1979, Sue is top row to the right of Alison Playfair.

Hi Jerry

Sad news indeed, a true lady. I haven't seen Sue since the 70's, but great memories of her giving out sound advice, which of course I ignored.

My condolences to the family

Dave

I spoke with Budgie yesterday, and had a brief word with Alan too - just so shocked I didn't know what to say. Desperately sad.

Sue was a really good mate back in the day - there was a time when Budgie and I were practically inseparable from Sue and Alan. I remember sitting in their old flat, slightly off our trees on something or other, and us sending off for an Elvis box set advertised on TV because we thought we ought to expand our musical horizons ! Eeek - a forgotten embarassing secret but it's making me smile just thinking about it because it was something silly and shameful that I shared with Sue, God bless her. I used to bump into her in Cheltenham every now and again and she was still smiling, still bubbly. She was always immaculately turned out, and as Dave said, a real lady.

We all look so young and carefree in that picture Jerry - good times and really happy memories.

At the Sarrys tonight can you please let peple know that the funeral is at 12 o'clock on Friday 12th October at Cheltenham Crematorium, then drinks afterwards at the Somerset Arms.

Family flowers only and to wear bright colours, not black.

Thanks
