Kev Connellan Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Very hard record to find. I first heard Merv Parnell play this. Great choon. A mate of mine just paid $165 for a boot of it!
Tommaso Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 Very hard record to find. I first heard Merv Parnell play this. Great choon. A mate of mine just paid $165 for a boot of it! A mint- copy of the original just went for 676$ (less than 350£) on ebay..
Guest sean daniels Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 A mint- copy of the original just went for 676$ (less than 350£) on ebay.. WOW! Less than £340 for Al McCarther?
Tommaso Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 WOW! Less than £340 for Al McCarther? Yes, I've offered 666$ and someone outbidded me during the last 5 seconds, so 676$.. If someone has got a copy for sale for less than 500£, give me a ring..
Guest sean daniels Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Yes, I've offered 666$ and someone outbidded me during the last 5 seconds, so 676$.. If someone has got a copy for sale for less than 500£, give me a ring.. Seems like the ONLY PLACE TO BUY NORTHERN SOUL at the right price is EBAY.
Tommaso Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Seems like the ONLY PLACE TO BUY NORTHERN SOUL at the right price is EBAY. No, but if a record like Gary Dean went for 1477$ on ebay, now 700£ is the right price, if Al McCarther went for just 676$, the right price remain 700£+.. there's something wrong in it maybe?
Pete S Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 How about Freddie Chavez selling for $1050 on sunday - wasn't even an issue, just a demo, I wouldn't have thought more than £250!
Pete S Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 I should also add that despite Gary Dean being advertised for sale on here for £800 or similar, I still have one for sale at £450
Simsy Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 £1000 for this beauty On behalf of any would-be interested parties, are you open to offers on that sum Dazz?
Dazz Posted October 23, 2007 Author Posted October 23, 2007 On behalf of any would-be interested parties, are you open to offers on that sum Dazz? Always open to serious offers Ian. To be honest I would really like it to go to Tommaso as I know how much he wants it, but you know how it is with records you don't really want to sell. You have to ask what you are happier to sell it at knowing you won't be seeing another any time soon. i.e it's got to be worth selling as I've got plenty of others I'd rather see go first and it's always easy to give them away. Tommaso Send me the link to the one that just finished on Ebay if you would mate Dazz

Guest Trevski Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Popsike lists 4 $51 $228 $150 $597 https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php...amp;x=0&y=0
Tommaso Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Popsike lists 4 $51 $228 $150 $597 https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php...amp;x=0&y=0 3 of them are bootlegs, but the original went for 597$..
Guest Trevski Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 3 of them are bootlegs, but the original went for 597$.. Thought they looked a bit dodgy around the middles! So the issue is the best bet then, to be safe, unless you can verify the demos legit.
Salvosoul Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 i remember i have bid on ebay in 2006 for two copies of the same seller gone for 600 $ this twi copie gone in england
Salvosoul Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 in belgium there are 25 years that we to know and search this record and there are approximatly 15 original records and this gone when a collector sale for max . 500 euros and i remenber my friend are buy 20 years ago a copie for 10 euro but now this record its hard to find in england you are more money ??
Salvosoul Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 i not understand how in angland you like this ballad its a pure belgium sound its not a northern soul style i think that this records are classified in a country soft style
arnie j Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 i totally agree with u mate, not northern at all but a nice tune indeed
Tommaso Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 i totally agree with u mate, not northern at all but a nice tune indeed I've got to say that I like popcorn sounds, not Adriano Celentano or Mina but the r'n'b stuff could be very good in my opinion.. Al McCarther is a wonderful song in my opinion, and a perfect ender for any event.. but of course it's very unusual and it's quite normal if someone doesn't like it.
