Guest WPaulVanDyk Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Got a nice version i thought of Otis Redding - Papa's Got a Brand New Bag not seen it listed in 2 price gudies but i think it's as good as James Brown version. Otis must have more good stuff to find
JOE TORQUAY Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 ATCO #6723 # OTIS REDDING # LOOK AT THE GIRL / THAT'S A GOOD IDEA. I THINK THIS IS ONE OF HIS BEST IMO, IF IT GOT PLAYED OUT MORE OFTEN IT COULD BE A LOT BETTER THOUGHT OF, JOE.

Sebastian Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 (edited) His early effort "She's Alright" (issued on the TRANS WORLD and FINER ARTS labels) is superb, and his frantic version of "Shout Bamalama" is another winner. Edited September 30, 2007 by Sebastian

Unfortunately i discovered something about the trumpet player and i can't listen to the record now.

Daved Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 Otis is the greatest singer of all time imo. I think the best way to make someone understand, who wants to know what soul music is, is to play them an Otis record. Otis Blue is one of the greatest soul LPs ever.
Guest Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 Agreed m8 but constantly overlooked by Northern crowd until recently. He was the reason I flunked my "O" Levels in 68 How do you compare Triganometry with Mr Pitiful ? :-)))
