Ernie Andrews Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 cheers Paul probably is the corrct title......only just heard it in Spain this weekend, beautiful record! joel Absolute classic Mecca sound. Very underated in my opinion Never seen a white demo of it? 1
Garethx Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 I'd like a copy of this too (after Mulf has been sorted out of course) The flipside is a great downtempo harmony record: Big Bad Rain. A great double sider.
Harrogatesoul Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Mmm not got this one. Anyone with a soundclip? Rich
Mark B Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 also done by the original drifters on sounds south mark
John Benson Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 Absolute classic Mecca sound. Very underated in my opinion Never seen a white demo of it? Mine's a demo, but it's not white, just the same as the A Bet issues but with Promo or something similar printed across it. I'll try and dig it out and post a scan - if no one beats me to it! As Mark said the same song was done by the Original Drifters on Sounds South and also a Dutch or Belgium release as shown below:
Guest Awake 502 Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Mmm not got this one. Anyone with a soundclip? Rich Label scan...... sound clip to follow....
John Benson Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Well - here's mine... but on closer inspection, it's not 'quite' a demo but a Juke box copy! I must have just remembered it had some sort of 'plug side' to it - see the star: So I suppose it still leaves the question of the existance of white demos unanswered
pikeys dog Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Great record, but anyone paying more than a tenner for a copy wants their bumps feelin'
Ernie Andrews Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Probably sold the same number of copies on release as Willie J & co and yet look at the price of both and how different they are. 5degrees should be worth more!
Corbett80 Posted October 5, 2007 Author Posted October 5, 2007 agreed well chuffed when i found out it was a cheapie!
Guest Netspeaky Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Probably sold the same number of copies on release as Willie J & co and yet look at the price of both and how different they are. 5degrees should be worth more!Perhaps Willie J should be less, nothing wrong with 5 Degrees being cheap, I like buying cheap good records, my copy cost me 10p back in the 1970's, think I paid the same for my Willie J around the same time, the good old days when great tunes like these came in soul packs.
