It's soooo booooring.... Simon Yeh but i can think of loads of worse records that people would pay over £100 for, & which in truth are probably not half as rare either Simon New ? yes ! but they are still produced in a very limited quantity so the supply over demand equation takes effect.

It was only a few years ago that you could get a free copy off your mate if you missed the anniversary, now there seems to be so much hype by certain peeps around these free giveaways that people think they're automatically gonna go for a ton or sommat. Yes, i agree there's records that go for over a ton that aren't as good, but i've really noticed in the last couple of years that there's an over the top excitement with these tunes that seems to be inflating the price. And yes i am jealous because i haven't got one!! Simon
Guest Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 How many people ONLY go to the anniversary nighter just to get the 45? We'll see how many end up on ebay over the next couple of weeks. Derek

Guest Simon Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 How many people ONLY go to the anniversary nighter just to get the 45? We'll see how many end up on ebay over the next couple of weeks. Derek Good point there Derek, and i do believe this is part of the reason they are going for big money on the web. I remember a few years back if one of the Brighton gang missed out on the anniversary you'd get a spare given to you off one of your mates, i remember getting Lorraine Chandler & Judy Clay in this way, for free! I'm not saying people necessarily do this but if these records are now going for a ton & you happen to live in London you've only got to pop in the 100 club pay your entrance fee, get the record & you can make a nice little profit! Simon the Cynical
Guest Bogue Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 How many people ONLY go to the anniversary nighter just to get the 45? We'll see how many end up on ebay over the next couple of weeks. Derek mmm, if you think about it, it's not a bad nights work is it ! Have a great night out & get paid £100 for going ! Think there might be a few more at it next year now !

Guest Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 This was my last one! And I have all the ones in between! I must admit......I never gave them a seconds thought at the time as being future valuables? Just a really nice touch from a really nice guy on a really nice night! Back home in the morning 100 CLUB 45 straight on........GREAT MEMORIES!!!!!

Derek I dragged my missus down to the 100 for the anniversary once, told her she would love it but she pretended not to. Anyway we each got a copy of "When The Boy That You Love" which was nice, but I could have had a few more as there were people leaving them lying around as they left This year's is nice, both good tunes, wish I could have got along. Cheers Paul

Ady Croasdell Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 HESITATIONS TRACK IS QUITE NICE ,ANY INFORMATION ON IT? BAZ A It's an early 70s GWP tape we found when we bought the label. Butch had an acetate made and has spun it a few times and I have on occasion. I put it on as the flip as the 70s / crossover crowd get right behind these new vinyl releases and will give it some stick before it comes out on GWP Vol 2 next year. The Milton Bennett will be on the Larry Banks CD later this month. Cut at the same session as Jaibi's 'You Got Me'

Cut at the same session as Jaibi's 'You Got Me' no offence ady, but i haven't kept any of the previous records - i've sold them all for a (imo) good price i'll tell you what though....i'm hanging on to this one - what a beauty! the milton bennett is just superb - proper northern! lurve the break the hesitations is excellent - first time i heard it i thought it was great northern crossover which could be played in a 70s/modern room - could be an end of the night anthem well done and thanks ady, this is a great record

Corbett80 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Ady, i imagine The Dynamics on the new Larry Banks CD the same track as the LB & Jaibi? And is it as good??
Mark Bicknell Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Thanks to Ady for sending me a copy of the record....sublime both sides. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
Russ Vickers Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Milton Bennett - Whats One More Lie Hesitations - Go Away Absolutely fantastic record, both sides are bloody marvellous, one side an uptempo tub thumping NS dancer of the highest order, slightly dodgy vocal in parts, but stands proud against virtually any NS discovery of the last 30 plus years, t'other side sublime midtempo real deal soulful shuffler........doesnt get any better, my 100 Club Anniversary 45's are held in very very high esteem by me & are very dear to my heart, a piece of NS history bought to us by one of the nicest & most dedicated advocates of our music, long may the 6ts AllNighters continue, long may the tradition of the Anniversary 45's continue & lets all hope the Ace/Kent inprint will always provide us with quality releases. Oh yeah & get ya arses down to the Kent Anniversary dooooooooo Russ
Ady Croasdell Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Ady, i imagine The Dynamics on the new Larry Banks CD the same track as the LB & Jaibi? And is it as good?? Very different, it's a fuller orchestrated track with loads of harmonies. Excellent track, you need it!

Billy Freemantle Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 (edited) The Milton Bennett is an amazing record. The vocal couldn't be better. Matches the sense of the song. Edited September 29, 2007 by Billy Freemantle
