Chalky Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Do many people know this version - same tune as The Sparkels on Old Town 9. Norma Jenkins - Try Love Just One More Time (1:55) Yes Its from a Jobete acetate. Is it definately Norma Jenkins as the acetate has no artist credits?

Pete S Posted September 20, 2007 Author Posted September 20, 2007 Yes Its from a Jobete acetate. Is it definately Norma Jenkins as the acetate has no artist credits? I would doubt it - never heard of her recording for Motown and she was based in NY I think?
Chalky Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I would doubt it - never heard of her recording for Motown and she was based in NY I think? Jobete had a NY office which is where Sidney Barnes (co writer along with George Kerr) first came in to contact with Motown.

Pete S Posted September 23, 2007 Author Posted September 23, 2007 'Viewed 9841 times by 4425 viewers.' Is this the power of Soul Source? No I doubt it! I've got between 1500 and 2000 people on my mailing list at any given time and they always get told when somethings happening, plus those are total figures for that page for the last 6 months....

Reason I ask is because all of the other ones, I've done it real time using decks, sort of worked at them whereas this one, I just studied a load of tracks and picked ones I thought would be of interest and a couple of oddball ones that I like (hence the appearance of "I'm Moving Uptown").

Yes. It really is well put together. A real all -nighter feel to it.
