going through my records and was wondering does anybody play "The Twilights -Your the one" , " Tee Fletcher-Happy loving you", "tommy dodson-one day love" and "The fugitives- good lovin if you can get it" as these were sounds i bought after hearing him play them and will bring back memories of leicester :ohmy:

ive not heard twilights or fugitives out for ages ..im sure Tee Fletcher gets the odd spin...

gary definately had a sound of his own didnt he...

still after a Tommy Dodson meself..gr8 uptempo tune

I love the Twilights. Its mad and frantic, just like most of GR tunes.

Not convinced its the best dancer tho, but I do love it.

Its one of those that seems to be the same price now as it was when it was first played, a la PW Canon, £30 then (about a weeks wages) £30 now.

He was great at this time. I also liked "Baby I need you" - The Specials - Satch, "Never will I" - Magnificent Seven - Dial, and didn't he play "Standing at a Standstill" - Sherlock Holmes - Part III at that time?

Johnny Guitar Watson - Ain't gonna move

Still chasing a Vondells though!

sent a tape to mr freeman with gary r on it wigan 1981, playing all the great stuff Ray Agee (having just been uncovered ), franki karl, johnny guitar watson, imaginations, vondells, richard anthony (still c/up as detroit wheels), charles brandy, cashemeres, etc etc, Mark you never did burn me a copy onto CD :unsure:

ha ha no probs markey lad, there was also the warrington one too, but hey no rush, just would like the copies tho as the wigan one is one of the clearest recordings i heard from the casino lol!

Still got to get to one of yr days mate!

Gary Rushbrook was one of the best DJ's of all time. I reckon Gary was

the country's Number 2 behind RICHARD SEARLING.
